<callout-component color="Orange">Swipefy Pro is required to Sync to Spotify.</callout-component>To sync a playlist to Spotify you can press the enable prompt for sync when viewing the playlist in the Swipefy app.

Syncing a playlist

On Swipefy you can sync your likes made on the platform to Spotify, and from Spotify to Swipefy. You can enable these options in the Swipefy setting by pressing the Edit Sync button.<h3 id="m5zr583z3ft" data-toc-id="m5zr583z3ft">Free Sync</h3>Free users are limited to one sync every five minutes and after watching a short video ad. You will also have to manually press the Sync Now button.<h3 id="1oecz823281" data-toc-id="1oecz823281">Pro Sync</h3>Pro users have access to automatic sync which will sync automatically when you leave the app or after five minutes of not swiping.<h3 id="5d65axa676c" data-toc-id="5d65axa676c">Save likes to</h3>You can choose where your likes are saved to in the Edit Sync menu. You can choose your Spotify Liked Songs or a Swipefy Likes playlist on Spotify.

Playlists

<ol><li>Navigate to the "Playlists" tab on the bottom bar.</li><li>Press on the "Create playlist" button.</li><li>Give your playlist a name and description, and choose your privacy settings.</li><li>Then tap "Create playlist", and you're good to go!</li></ol><callout-component color="Orange">⚠️ Users creating playlists on Swipefy for a Spotify account will want to check their playlist's privacy settings on Spotify. Due to a bug in Spotify’s API, we are unable to set playlists to private at this time.</callout-component>

You can create a playlist on your music platform, and it will show up in the app, or you can create it on Swipefy!

How to create a playlist

For some unknown reason, the Spotify API won’t let us change the privacy setting for you. You must go into the Spotify app and adjust the privacy settings separately from Swipefy’s for each playlist you create.

This can sometimes happen for some users, bank transaction delays or server issues. To create a Swipefy account, you must sign in with your Spotify account. Your Swipefy account will then be linked to your Spotify account.Currently, Swipefy only supports Spotify, but Apple Music support is being worked on. Support for other music providers will come in the future.

<h3 id="lwldx8laatl" data-toc-id="lwldx8laatl">TLDR; We recommend starting fresh with Swipefy 2.0 and not importing your swipes from 1.0</h3>Your profile and friends are all already migrated and waiting for you in 2.0 :)And about your swipes: almost all issues in 1.0 were a result of a bad catalog (tracks, artist etc) setup. This is why we build 2.0 completely from the ground up and it’s working waaaay better. Though, the old catalog is so broken that it’s not reliable enough to use to migrate your old swipes the new app. It will result in many inaccuracies, hence why we decided not to automatically migrate everyone’s data.<h1 id="m8m0p2twli2" data-toc-id="m8m0p2twli2">I still want to migrate my data from 1.0</h1><h3 id="ec7zak1ep0c" data-toc-id="ec7zak1ep0c">Swipe History</h3>We’re currently working on a button to import either your likes, dislikes or both from 1.0 and this will soon be available in an update to the app. We will also notify in <a target="" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="link" href="https://discord.gg/swipefy">our Discord</a> when this feature is available.<h3 id="2xczllwzzp4" data-toc-id="2xczllwzzp4">Collections (playlists)</h3>Currently we don’t have plans to transfer them, but if you have synced your collections to Spotify it will show up as a playlist in the 2.0 app when launching the app.<h3 id="bm1cowz21fw" data-toc-id="bm1cowz21fw">Profile</h3>Your profile, profile picture, bio, pronouns, privacy settings, etc. are all automatically migrated to 2.0<h3 id="y2oc7ytkfdq" data-toc-id="y2oc7ytkfdq">Friends</h3>In 2.0 we replaced the friend system with a following system, so all your friends from 1.0 are now appearing as following you and you following them in 2.0.You can read more about the 2.0 transition on the Swipefy 2.0 blog post.

If you would like to fully remove your account and all its data please navigate to the Swipefy Settings → Account &amp; privacy → Destructive and select delete your account.<callout-component color="Orange">Warning: Once an account is removed it can’t be recovered again.</callout-component>

Unfortunately, due to the terms of service of our music providers, we are not allowed to provide a public API for other developers to use.<callout-component color="Red">Any unauthorised use of the Swipefy API may result in the IP getting blocked and any Swipefy accounts connected to the unauthorised use banned.</callout-component>
